Project Partner: Matthew Tipple
Introducing a project partner of the ABC 5.0, TerraVerde, Matthew Tipple. More than three decades ago, Matthew made a deliberate decision to follow in his father’s footsteps and pursue a career in homebuilding. Since then, he has built a distinguished trajectory in the industry, holding executive management roles with several of California’s leading homebuilders and earning a reputation for thoughtful leadership and strategic insight. After years of hands-on experience and executive oversight, Matthew Tipple founded Maximilian Development Company (MDC), focusing on design, project management and land acquisition consulting. For thirteen years, he successfully guided MDC’s growth and direction before taking on a new challenge as Chief Executive Officer and Co-Owner of Salt Shed Design Build. Matthew has long been actively engaged in industry and community leadership. He has served as a member of both the California Building Industry Association and the regional Building Industry Association. His commitment to responsible community development led him to serve as Chair of the Community Development Advisory Committee in Napa, Chair of the City of Sonoma
Planning Commission and a member of the Design Review Board. His passion for innovative housing solutions is also demonstrated through his service as President and Building Committee Chair for Sweetwater Spectrum,
a pioneering residential community for adults with autism. Matthew holds a degree in Construction Management and Urban Planning from the University of California, Irvine. He has lived in Sonoma for more than 21 years, where he resides
with his wife, Leslie, and their son, Max. In 2025, Matthew divested his interest in Salt Shed and refocused MDC on the development of luxury residential properties in Sonoma and Napa. Today, MDC specializes in design, acquisition, project management and owner’s representation for high-end residential projects throughout the region.
