Zero Energy Ready Home
Zero Energy Ready Home is a high-performance home that is so energy efficient a renewable energy system could offset most or all the home’s annual energy use. Developed by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), each DOE Zero Energy Ready Home meets rigorous efficiency and performance criteria found in the National Program Requirements. Requirements include ENERGY STAR certification and appliances, Indoor airPLUS certification, high performance windows, high performance attics or buried ducts, efficient hot water delivery systems, LED lightning and Solar system or “solar ready equipment” installed.
