CalGreen
CALGreen is California’s statewide green building code, officially known as the California Green Building Standards Code. It is the first mandatory green building code in the nation and establishes baseline sustainability requirements for all new residential and commercial construction in California. Its purpose is to reduce the environmental impact of buildings through measures that improve energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor air quality, material conservation and overall environmental responsibility. CALGreen is part of Title 24, which contains all state building regulations (structural, electrical, fire, energy, etc.), and CALGreen specifically covers environmental and sustainability standards for buildings.
